Setting Priorities

The title says it all!  You can make a list of things right now that you do and probably cross off 3/4 of it as unnecessary clutter that keeps you from doing the few things God called you to do well.
We had our Nuggets of Faith Women's group this past Tuesday and we discussed setting priorities.
first off the Bible tells us to

"love the Lord your God with all your heart ans with all your soul and with all your strength"  Deuteronomy 6:5
God is supposed to come first, all of our heart, soul, and strength should be committed to loving God, making him the first priority, the first one we consult.

The Bible also states, " Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and every thing else will be added"
Matthew 6:33
Most of the time we are busy trying to make a good life for ourselves and neglect our relationship with our Father.  Setting priorities means that we don't have to work ourselves into total insanity, the simple formula? Seek God first and then we won't have to be so busy trying to make things happen.  After all this place is not our final home, it is only temporary, we should strive to take care of the eternal goal and the temporal stuff will line up...it's a promise!  Now how you interpret your blessings is up to you, but remember the flesh is never satisfied and will always want more, we have to learn from the Apostle Paul and "learn how to be content in whatever state you find yourself in."

"For we are God's handiwork created in Christ Jesus to to good works, which God prepared in advanced for us to do."
Ephesians 2:10
God has already prepared in advanced the work that we are to do on this earth and none of it is going to jeopardize our relationship with Him or our families.  The error comes from our own mismanagement of task and time.
Yes, I said our relationship with Him, because a lot of times, we get so busy doing for Christ, that we forget about spending time with Him, we don't pray as much, or forget to read and fast.  Ministry busyness does not replace the relationship you are to have with Him.

Well there is so much more to go into, but that all was done during our Group and lots of questions and advice was given.  Perhaps if you are in the Columbus area, you can attend our meetings that are once a month on a Tuesday @6:30pm locations TBA.

We Must Be Spiritually Woke

I had the honor and privilege to speak at my very first youth conference and believe me when I tell you I have never felt so relevant to young people than I did that day.  It reminded me that just because I am 42, I still had a lot to offer young people and they were eager to listen.   I usually shy away from middle school and teens because they get on my last nerve, and they trigger me in many ways, because of my childhood dealing with sexual abuse and being a teen mom.  I think they remind me of the time I did not have the luxury to be just a kid.  So when I see them doing and making stupid kid decisions, I can't handle it.  Notice I said "kid decisions".  That's what they get to do, and it's perfectly acceptable, but for me, I just cannot deal, call me a hater.  I'm okay with that...lol Speaking to these young adults inspired me more, because they have some adult experiences that I can easily relate and get to them on their level.  H...

Open Doors!

"I know your works.  See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you who have little strength, have kept my word, and have not denied my name." Rev 3:8 God never forgets the works that we do!  I can remember countless hours of standing on my feet ushering, or many miles traveled to support other ministries. I remember numerous Sundays being in the office completing business. So much labor.  I had to grow not to complain about how much our life was consumed by works...in fact I had made that the main thing and obliviously forgot about my relationship with Jesus.  Thank God for his grace!  Through His patience with me coming through his word, I was able to gain the revelation that I needed to refocus!  But even then He still did not forget about my works.  Because of my diligence and commitment to ministry, he has now allowed me the opportunity to share the gifts that he has given me. It's amazing the doors that have been...
You are Not Alone ...As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.                                                                                                                          Joshua 1:5 Joshua was charged with bringing God's people into the promise land after his predecessor Moses and all the Generation before them had passed. Joshua was with Moses during the 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, he was with Moses through battles and triumphs, through failures and progress.  However, he wasn't in the position Moses was in as the leader. But now, it was Joshua's turn to lead the people of God, I can't imagine the stress h...
